Before "Gloria Evaporada" the Cantuta case have had been a subject of my artmaking, at my first solo exhibition "Pinturas y Objetos" (1993). For that exhibition I experimented with newspaper cutouts photocopies, Polaroid self-portraits and clippings of my own hair. Image #1: "Indicios I". 1993. Photocopies, acrylic transfer, plastic. After my first exhibit I got involved with the Cantuta case again, this time with the image of the box, I founded very alluding of the industrial scope the political disappearences at that time. For "Gloria Evaporada" I re-worked two of the pieces I previosly exhibited in "Pinturas y Objetos", attaching to them "arms" made of cardboard, like silhouette shooting targets, since the Cantuta executions were done in a shooting practice camp of the army.
