Interweavings of Light (Urdimbres de Luz) 2007. Microtextiles, light
tables, 35mm slide projector, video, printed documentation. Galerķa Enlace, Lima.
The microtextiles of this series are made with yellow, red, blue and black beads; the colors that represent
the four directions for the Lakota. Wallace Black Elk once told me that all beings are made from different combinations of
these colors.
This series has microtextiles with DNA from native american plants, the ethnic groups that created those
plants and the plagues of the Conquest.
The monarch buttrefly represents the species that are going extinct due to the proliferation of GMO corn.
